Prayer Shawl Ministry Group
Our Prayer Shawl group meets monthly on the second Tuesday, at 10.30 in the South Room at the Parish Centre. It is a time of knitting, crocheting, prayer, companionship and laughter over a cup of tea.
Many shawls and knee rugs have been distributed both within the parish and in the wider community. These have brought comfort and spiritual assurance to people who are ill, grieving or caring for family, and yearn for healing of body, mind and spirit.
Next year we plan to continue to meet, and have decided to include an outreach aspect to the group. It is to the Save the Children - Survive to Five program, knitting squares that will be made into blankets and sent to India, where hypothermia is a serious issue for newborn babies, particularly those with a low birth rate. If you would like to join us, please do so.
